⭐V2 Announced!
⭐Version 2 of Checkmate Charmers will be publicly available for download starting on May 31st.
-V2 Changelog-
New Content
- 3 new events.
- New castle area for item shopping and viewing events.
- 12 action cards that can be used in battle for a variety of effects.
Gameplay Changes
- Victory rewards replaced by favor points. You still get a bonus for checkmates.
- Inventory is now infinite. It will automatically expand by 4 slots every time it is filled.
Quality of Life Changes
- Added item descriptions.
- Play as long as you like. Game now ends only when you click the room that shows the final scene.
- Game waits 1 frame before loading new maps or menus. (This seems to have helped to prevent a freezing bug in Finders).

Thank you! The new systems I've added should make the events a fair bit more accessible and offer some new elements of strategy in the chess portion of the game.

I'm glad to hear it! This will probably be a shorter game overall, but I'm aiming to make at least 2 more updates after this one. I'd like to have at least one event for each character pairing and a few more features in place before I call this game finished.
