⭐V4 Released! Final update and concept art!
⭐Version 4 of Checkmate Charmers is now available for download! For the full list of features please check the Announcement devlog. Since this game is now likely to be deleted due to changes in Itch terms of service I have jumped ahead of the intended release date. This mostly concludes the development for Checkmate Charmers, though I did have plans for a patch to add more dialogue and a title screen for the final public version. I have also attached some of the concept art which was never made public.
I do not know where my games will go after Itch deletes them. I think that I will wait for the situation around the internet to stabilize before picking a new home. My SubscribeStar will continue to operate and I may start making public releases there for a while. Make sure that you grab everything from Itch while it's still here!

Hopefully they stay up, when I went to download the game, I got a message saying this game had been "Quarantined" due to suspicious behavior, saying "Our system has flagged this page for additional review due to potential suspicious behavior from the page owner."
Hopefully that isn't a sign that the game is getting deleted soon?
Not all of the shadow-banned games give this message, so I'm guessing that mine are closer to being deleted than those without a quarantine warning.

We'll have to wait and see how strongly the new terms of service are enforced. I think that even if the situation is fully reversed, Itch has lost too much trust and probably won't be useful in the near future, but I'll keep using it as a repository until my games start getting removed. My near-term plan is to make public SubscribeStar posts with uploads of older projects that Itch deletes. I don't currently have a long-term plan, I'll don't have any guesses regarding which safe harbors may still remain or suddenly appear in the next 6 months.
It's a sad day here in Itch. Awesome that you managed to still pull this update for your game. We will see where things go from now on.

Thank you for all of these years of support Nekolag! I hope you will find a new home and continue making your games too, I've always enjoyed them! If Itch starts taking my games down I think that I will start a public section on SubscribeStar to offer free downloads, but I'll need to find a place with a bit more public visibility eventually.
